Vehr Communications

Public Relations | Reputation. Relationships. Results.

Economic Development
Expanding a state or local economy requires more than good intentions. It requires a plan based in reality. It requires community engagement and understanding, especially (but not exclusively) among the elected and appointed public officials and senior business leadership of the community. It requires a willingness to challenge old ways with best-in-class practices that have succeeded elsewhere. It requires commitment to real results and the capacity to deliver them.

In addition to the public relations and strategic communications services Vehr Communications can provide to economic development organizations, we work in a strategic partnership with KMK Consulting to provide the following economic development services:
  • Strategic planning
  • Capital campaign design, development and management
  • Relocations, expansions, credit and incentives negotiations
  • Organizational design and performance
  • Organizational leadership development
  • Public/private partnerships design, development and management

KMK Consulting is one of America’s leading economic development consulting firms, having worked in more than 70 cities or regions helping community and business leaders design and build some of the countries leading economic development organizations.

Nick Vehr, President of Vehr Communications, currently serves as a Senior Consultant and Of Counsel with KMK Consulting. As the former Vice President of Economic Development and Marketing for the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, the fifth largest Chamber in America, Nick Vehr had contracted with Jim McGraw, President and CEO of KMK Consulting, to support Cincinnati’s $25-million, 5-year regional economic development initiative.
