Online communications and the 2012 World Choir Games
Vehr Communications is developing the social media plan to be implemented during the 2012 World Choir Games. During the course of the Games, online communication will be vitally important. With an expected tens of thousands of visitors, it's essential that online efforts are set up not only to promote the Games, but to showcase Cincinnati, provide quality customer service and ensure public safety.
Here are just some of the ways we plan to do that:
Our online communications plan includes a social media headquarters. The team stationed at this headquarters is responsible for monitoring, moderating, publishing and measuring online activity during the 2012 Games. From Opening Ceremonies on July 4th to Closing Ceremonies on the 14th, there will be much information flowing through the online communication's "hub," our official 2012 Games website.
In addition to folks stationed in the social media headquarters, the team will also include on-the-ground content managers. They will be the "eyes and ears" of the Games and will be tasked with capturing the on-the-ground experience. From a "photo of the day" to visitor and performer testimonials to results of competitions, the content created will serve as the legacy of the Games.
Part of delivering the ultimate 2012 Games experience means highlighting Cincinnati's hospitality. We want visitors to feel welcome. We'll do this by consistently offering real-time information and advice on topics like curbing language barriers, parking recommendations, traffic updates, transit options and weather considerations. Our goal is to be a valuable resource for those visiting Cincinnati.
